TransferGauge is free for consumers. We believe in total transparency regarding how our platform operates, how outbound provider links are handled, and how we plan to support our independent research.
Our Core Commercial Commitment
TransferGauge may earn a commission when you click certain provider links, where an approved affiliate relationship is active. Affiliate relationships do not determine the TransferGauge Score or ranking, where that is factually accurate. We evaluate providers deterministically using published fee and exchange rate benchmarks.
1. Current Link Status & Commercial Model
TransferGauge is 100% free for users. We do not charge subscription fees, paywalls, or fees for using our comparison calculator.
Current Link Status: At present, outbound provider links on TransferGauge are standard navigational links that direct you directly to the official websites of third-party money transfer providers. TransferGauge does not currently have active affiliate monetization with the listed providers, and these links do not generate referral revenue.
Future Affiliate Programs: In the future, TransferGauge may establish formal affiliate and referral partnerships with licensed providers. When an approved partnership is established, clicking an outbound link may route you through an authorized partner tracking URL, and the provider may pay us a referral commission if you complete a transaction, at no extra cost to you.
2. How We Distinguish Provider Links
We maintain strict technical and editorial standards for all outbound provider links:
- Standard Provider Links (Default): When no approved affiliate program exists with a provider, outbound links direct users straight to the provider's standard official website using standard
rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer"attributes. We do not fabricate tracking parameters or claim non-existent partner status. - Approved Affiliate Links (When Active): If an approved affiliate program is formally established, the outbound link will use the provider's authorized tracking URL and will be marked with
rel="sponsored nofollow noopener noreferrer"in compliance with regulatory and search engine guidelines. - Internal Educational Links: Links labeled "Review details" or pointing to
/providers/[slug]and/guides/[slug]are internal links that provide independent editorial evaluations, fee breakdowns, and user guides.
3. What Commercial Relationships Do NOT Affect
Whether an outbound link is a standard link or an approved affiliate link, commercial relationships never dictate our rankings or scores:
- Mathematical Sort Order: When you sort by "Lowest Cost," "Most Received," or "Fastest," our engine executes deterministic math strictly on benchmark fee and exchange rate inputs. A commercial partner cannot pay for higher placement or override mathematical rankings.
- TransferGauge Scores: Scores (0–100) are assigned strictly using our 7-factor weighted scoring methodology. Providers without commercial partnerships are evaluated and ranked using the exact same objective criteria.
- Editorial Independence: Our analysts document limitations, high exchange rate spreads, payment surcharges, and customer service trade-offs without fear of compromising commercial relationships.

Future referral compensation will help support our independent research team, platform maintenance, corridor fee tracking, and the continued development of free comparison tools for global remitters.
