Privacy Policy
TransferGauge is designed on the principle of data minimization. We do not require account creation, nor do we collect, process, or store your sensitive personal financial information.
1. Introduction & Scope
TransferGauge ("we," "our," or "us") operates an independent comparison platform for international money transfer services. This Privacy Policy sets out how we handle information when you visit our website, use our comparison tools, or contact us.
TransferGauge aims to handle personal data in accordance with applicable data-protection laws, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, as applicable to our processing activities.
2. Sensitive Financial Data We NEVER Collect
Zero Financial Credential Storage
TransferGauge is purely an informational comparison and referral engine. We never facilitate transactions or handle customer funds. Consequently, we never request, collect, process, or store:
- Bank account numbers, IFSC codes, SWIFT/BIC codes, or routing numbers
- Credit card or debit card numbers, expiration dates, or CVV/CVC codes
- UPI PINs, passwords, or two-factor authentication (2FA) tokens
- Government identification numbers (including PAN, Aadhaar, Social Security Numbers, or Passport numbers)
- Recipient personal names, physical addresses, or beneficiary contact details
- Account login credentials for third-party money transfer providers
3. Information We Process
Because TransferGauge does not offer user accounts or logins, personal data collection is strictly minimized:
- Ephemeral Calculation Inputs: When you use our comparison tool, the currency corridor, amount, receiving rail, and sort priority you select are processed in real-time in your browser memory and encoded in the URL query string for bookmarking and sharing. These inputs are not linked to your personal identity.
- Technical Logs & Anonymous Telemetry: We collect aggregate, non-personally identifiable technical telemetry (e.g., browser type, general geographical region derived from IP, device screen size, and aggregate pages visited) to ensure site stability, monitor server health, and understand which currency routes are most frequently researched.
- Voluntary Correspondence: If you voluntarily contact us via email (e.g., submitting a rate correction or inquiry to our team), we retain your email address and message contents solely to respond to and resolve your request.
4. Cookies & Local Storage
TransferGauge does not use intrusive cross-site advertising cookies or behavioral tracking networks. We use minimal, privacy-respecting client technologies:
- Functional Preferences (Local Storage): We may store non-sensitive UI settings in your browser's local storage (such as your last selected corridor or display theme) to enhance your browsing experience across visits.
- Aggregated Analytics: We may use privacy-centric, cookieless or anonymized analytics frameworks to count unique visitors and measure high-level site interactions without fingerprinting individual users across other websites.
5. Outbound Links & Third-Party Providers
TransferGauge contains links directing you to external websites of independent third-party money transfer providers.
When you click on a provider button (such as "Visit Provider →"), you leave TransferGauge and enter the provider's official website. Current provider links are standard outbound links. In the future, where an approved affiliate partnership is active, links may include an authorized referral identifier.
Once you leave TransferGauge, your interactions, personal identity verification (KYC/AML), account registrations, and financial transfers are governed solely by that third-party provider's privacy policy and terms of use. We strongly encourage you to review their policies.
6. Purposes of Processing
Any limited information processed by TransferGauge is handled under legitimate interests and user consent for the following specific purposes:
- Delivering real-time comparison calculations requested by you
- Maintaining server performance, debugging technical issues, and preventing cyber-attacks
- Responding to voluntary user communications and data correction requests
- Auditing and optimizing the usability of our comparison features
7. Data Retention & Security
Because we do not store customer profiles or financial records, there are no customer databases to retain. Voluntary correspondence received by email is retained only for the duration necessary to address the inquiry or maintain audit records, after which it is securely purged.
All web traffic to TransferGauge is encrypted using modern Transport Layer Security (TLS 1.3 / HTTPS).
8. User Rights Regarding Provided Data
Regarding personal data you provide directly to us (such as voluntary email inquiries or rate correction reports), you may request to exercise rights recognized under applicable privacy frameworks, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023:
- Right to Access: You may request a summary of personal correspondence data held about you.
- Right to Correction & Erasure: You may request correction of inaccurate personal data or erasure of correspondence that is no longer required for the purpose for which it was sent.
- Right of Grievance Redressal: You may lodge a privacy grievance regarding the processing of your correspondence.
- Right to Nominate: You may nominate an individual to exercise your rights in the event of death or incapacity, where applicable.
9. Privacy Contact & Grievance Redressal

10. Updates to This Privacy Policy
We may revise this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect technological developments, product updates, or changes in statutory data protection regulations. The updated version will be indicated by an updated effective date at the top of this page.
